Universal Media and Journalistic Technologies In the rapidly and radically changing media industry, a majority of workers say they need more training. From craft skills training and new media technologies the digital age has revolutionized the media world. The speed at which information moves - and the new ways people consume it - is transforming. CWA/NETT Academy in partnership with the CWA Media Sectors are offering classes to become more familiar with these new and emerging technologies in the media and journalistic fields. Whether it is broadcast, published, produced, printed, or posted the labor is changing and media workers are challenged to evolve their skill sets. Courses in Universal Media and Journalistic Technologies Taken in part or whole these courses are ideal for the mass communications professional who desires to become more skilled and versatile in today's evolving media related technologies. The courses in the program are intended to mirror today's advanced learning environment and are offered on-line and in a blended online-seminar format to meet the various demanding schedules for CWA members. Special attention will be given to writing for the various forms of the industry whether it is for television, print, or web platforms. Courses may be taken al-la-carte or towards the certificate program. Delivery The courses in the program are intended to mirror today's advanced learning environment. On-line: Classes are available five times throughout the year and typically runs 10-12 weeks. A dedicated instructor is assigned to you and is available throughout the training period. Training resources include books, manuals, labs, and multimedia experiences. Stanly Community College TUITION REFUND POLICY Effective Fall 2007 A refund will be made only under the following circumstances:
Official withdrawal involves completing the proper withdrawal form through the Records and Registration office prior to or on the 10 percent date. Students must request a refund in writing prior to or on the 10 percent date of the semester. Stanly Community College TUITION REFUND POLICY-ON LINE CLASSES A 100 percent refund will be granted within the first fifteen days of the official student registration date or the official first day of class whichever is later for the fall and spring semesters and eight days for the summer session. The student must request in writing to be withdrawn from the class and to receive a refund of tuition and fees within the first fifteen days from the student's registration date or from the first official day of the class whichever is later for the fall and spring semesters and eight days for the summer session. No refunds will be granted after this period. Students who wish to request an exception to the above policies must do so in writing to the Vice President of Student Development. The Vice President of Student Development and the Chief Financial Officer will consider the request and respond to the student within five days. The decision of the Vice President and the CFO is final. Requests made after the end of the semester cannot be considered. ![]() |
